Bank of Canada expected to announce interest rate cut Wednesday

The Bank of Canada will make its final interest rate announcement for the year Wednesday after four cuts to its policy interest rate so far in 2024.  Those cuts include a half-percentage point cut in October to bring the central bank’s key interest rate down to 3.75 per cent.  Financial markets and forecasters are betting on another jumbo interest rate cut to bring the rate down to 3.25 per cent.
