Thunderstorms blamed for city-wide power outage in Summerside Tuesday night

There was a city-wide power outage in Summerside Tuesday night.  The power went out around 6:00pm and Summerside Electric was able to pin down the problem to a blown transformer.  Crews were able to restore power across the City by 8:00pm.  Summerside Electric believes the cause of the outage was related to the weather conditions with the thunderstorms that resulted in lightning strikes on feeder lines in surrounding areas.
