The City of Charlottetown is excited to announce the return of Capital City Canada
Day to Victoria Park on Monday, July 1. This year’s festivities will feature a full day of free, family-friendly
activities, live music featuring The Fabulously Rich: The Tragically Hip Tribute as headliners of the
talented musical lineup and a spectacular fireworks display at dusk.
The following activities will be taking place;
Triathlon PEI presents: Victoria Park Kids of Steel Triathlon – Victoria Park at 8am.
21 Gun Salute at the Victoria Park Cannons at 12pm
Family Fun Zone – Victoria Park from 12pm to 7pm
Visit the family fun zone and celebrate Canada with kid-friendly games, inflatables,
community activations and festive giveaways throughout the day (while supplies last).
New this year is an interactive activation in partnership with Indigenous P.E.I., featuring local
Indigenous artisan vendors and cultural demonstrations.
Tastes of Canada (and Beyond) – food vendors at Victoria Park from 12pm to 7pm
Official Opening Ceremony – Victoria Park at 1pm
Coastal Vibes – All-Day Musical Celebration – 1:3o to 10pm
Time: 1:30-10 p.m.
Fireworks and Noise-Cancelling Headphone Program – 10 p.m.
Details: A brilliant display of lights and colours launched from a barge in Charlottetown
Harbour.
New this year, the City has partnered with the Autism Society of P.E.I. to lend
noise-cancelling headphones to individuals with sensory sensitivities.
A limited number of noise-cancelling headphones will be available at no cost to
attendees with sensory needs who want to enjoy the fireworks. Headphone
distribution will begin at 9 p.m. on a first-come, first-served basis. Volunteers
from the Autism Society of P.E.I. will be on-site to assist with distribution of the
headphones.
All Capital City Canada Day activities are weather permitting. Cancellations or weather-related
announcements will be shared on the City’s social media channels including Facebook
@CityofCharlottetown, Instagram @city_of_charlottetown and X (formerly Twitter) @ChtownPE.
The City of Charlottetown’s Canada Day Celebrations are supported by funding through the Department
of Canadian Heritage’s Celebration and Commemoration Program, Celebrate Canada Component. The City
received a $35,000 contribution from the Government of Canada for the event.
