PEI has a new Senator. Prime Minister Justin Trudeau has announced the appointment of Mary Robinson to fill the vacancy for PEI in the Senate. Mary Robinson is a leader in the agricultural sector and currently serves as the Vice-President of the World Farmers’ Organization. She is a managing partner of the Robinson Group of Companies, a 6th-generation farm and agribusiness on the Island. Robinson will be sworn in during a ceremony set for early next month, joining the current Senators for PEI Percy Downe, Brian Francis and Jane MacAdam.
