Work will begin Friday to replace the water line on Grafton Street from Cumberland Street to the Hillsborough Bridge. As a result, Grafton Street will be temporarily modified to a one-way street, westbound into the city, and a detour will be in place. The changes will be in effect 24 hours a day, 7 days a week until further notice. All local businesses on the street will remain open.
It’s expected the initial water line replacement will take three to four weeks, with two-way traffic restored once the work is complete.
