A deal that could have led to the creation of 20 supportive housing units in Summerside has fallen through.
Housing, Land and Communities Minister Rob Lantz says a building owner refused to sell a property to the province over concerns about how it would be used.
Lantz says he attributes the refusal to sell to a “not in my backyard” type of attitude.
The minister says his department remains focused on delivering services to vulnerable people without disrupting the surrounding neighbourhoods.
