Today marks the 20th anniversary of the day Hurricane Juan made landfall west of Halifax with winds of more than 170 kilometres per hour. Of course, it continued on toi PEI, causing some significant damage and power outages. The storm killed eight people and caused 192-million dollars in insurable damage. For PEI, it brought heavy rain and 140-km/h winds, downing trees, ripping apart barns and other buildings, and sinking boats.
