Social justice advocate Leo Cheverie has passed away

Social justice advocate and community leader Leo Cheverie has passed away at the age of 60.  Tributes from across Prince Edward Island poured in following his passing, and among those offering condolences is New Democratic Party of PEI Leader Michelle Neill.  Neill issued a statement saying Leo stood out in the crowd for his passion and advocacy for many causes including the Labour movement, environment and Indigenous issues, proportional representational and social justice.  Neill calls Leo Cheverie a passionate Islander who dedicated his life to the needs and concerns of his community, seeking a better world for all of us.
