On Wednesday, Prince District RCMP laid multiple charges against two men including possession of drugs for the purpose of trafficking, also impaired driving and assaulting a police officer.
At 3.00 in the afternoon that day police received a complaint of a car blocking a gas pump and revving its engine for a long period of time at a local gas station in Richmond. Police found two men in the car. An officer was struck by the driver after an altercation took place. Both men were taken into custody.
Officers seized hundreds of meth pills, cash and other material.
30 year old James Patrick Sudsbury has been charged with assaulting a police officer, resisting arrest, impaired driving and operating a vehicle while prohibited along with drug trafficking charges and breaking probation.
41 year old Lance Robert Smith faces possession and trafficking charges.
Smith was released and will be back in Summerside Court on May 24th. Sudsbury has been remanded into custody and was to be in court on Friday.
