A new report from P-E-I’s Chief Public Health Office says 87 per cent of drug users surveyed would use an overdose prevention site if one existed.
The report surveyed 55 people in Charlottetown who identified as substance users.
The majority of respondents say safety was the main reason they’d use an overdose prevention site.
An overdose prevention site allows people to use substances with the supervision of trained staff, and the province’s Department of Health and Wellness has a mandate to establish such a site.
