Picket lines are up in PEI and across Canada as more than 155-thousand federal public servants have walked off the job as of one minute after midnight Eastern Time Wednesday morning..
The Public Service Alliance of Canada says it has not been able to reach a deal with the government by the deadline and has begun strike action.
Union president Chris Aylward says there are still a number of issues to work out.
Wage increases have been top of mind at the bargaining table and the union has also pushed for work-from-home options to be written into a new collective agreement.
