At its monthly meeting on Wednesday night, Stratford Town Council approved amendments to add two new zone classifications within the Town’s Zoning and Development Bylaw. The new zone classifications will be created in the core area to support The Crossroads development project. The two new zone classifications are the Core Mixed Use Zone and Urban Core Zone – and both will allow for buildings of up to 6 or 12 stories, with commercial uses on the first floor and residential rental or condo units on the upper floors . The Crossroads plan will be developed in phases over the next twenty years, spearheaded by The Gray Group. It’s a billion-dollar project, with roughly 2,600 residential units and 300,000 sq. ft. of commercial and light industrial space. The plan also includes a central urban park and multi-use trail development.
