The federal minister for AOCA, Ginette Pettipas Taylor will be in Summerside on Tuesday to discuss key items in the 2023 federal budget with Island officials.
She will outline the key elements of the budget and how they will affect Islanders.
The budget contains millions of dollars more for PEI health care in the way of federal transfers.
It also means a new carbon tax will be added in July which will affect all Islanders as fuel prices will rise. The Liberals say 80% of Canadians will benefit from the clean energy tax but the federal Conservatives say 80% of Canadians will be affected by higher energy costs which will hurt the economy.
The federal minister will also give an update on the Hurricane Fiona Recovery Fund.
