Week 1 of the Canada Games is just about complete.
1,600 athletes will be leaving PEI and another 1,600 coming for Week 2 today and tomorrow. That means the Charlottetown Airport will be busy. 11 chartered flights will be coming in and then leaving.
For Team PEI today is a chance for our first medal in ringette with a packed crowd expected today as the Island girls play Saskatchewan at 3.00 at the MacLauchlan Arena at UPEI.
Quebec leads with 62 medals won including 24 gold this week.
Some fireworks coming to the Charlottetown waterfront tonight as part of the Canada Games IlumiNATION Festival. The fireworks display is set for 8.00 tonight by Port Charlottetown and the Prince Edward Hotel. There will also be an outdoor fire and circus performers beginning at 7.00.
A second fireworks show is set for Saturday, March 4th.
