The Cities of Charlottetown and Summerside have committed to working more closely together on issues of mutual interest. Elected officials and staff from both cities held a roundtable discussion recently, which was chaired by mayors Philip Brown and Dan Kutcher.
The two cities face common challenges and mounting financial pressures due to rapid
population growth, rising public safety costs and escalating social challenges. The cities committed to working more closely together on matters like official plans, zoning bylaws,
community safety, climate action, fiscal revenue-sharing and event co-hosting.
