Inflation cooled to 2.3 per cent in March as gas prices fell, easing prices for motorists.
One poll of economists ahead of the release had expected yearly inflation to hold steady month-to-month.
Statistics Canada reports Canadians were paying 1.6-per-cent less for gas during the month and 12 per cent less on airfare compared with a year earlier.
That’s alongside a drop in air travel to the United States.
PEI’s inflation rate in March was 1.8 percent, down from an even 2.0 percent in February.
