It was a busy weekend for RCMP on PEI in regards to impaired driving. The Mounties stopped four impaired drivers across the province over the weekend. In Peter’s Road in Kings County, officers conducting traffic enforcement issued a roadside alcohol screening demand to a 51-year-old driver, who failed the test. During a checkpoint in Webster’s Corner in Queens County, a driver failed a roadside screening test for cannabis. In Stratford, RCMP received a report of someone smoking cannabis in a vehicle. Officers located the suspect and determined the driver was impaired. The RCMP also responded to a report of an erratic driver on the Confederation Bridge. The vehicle was stopped in Borden-Carleton and resulted in the arrest of a 34-year-old woman who provided breath samples police say were nearly three times the legal limit.
