Charlottetown woman charged with Murder in death of infant daughter

The Charlottetown Police Major Crime Unit has charged a 39-year old Charlottetown woman, Cassie Acorn, with murder.  The charge follows an investigation into the death of her 3-month old infant daughter.   Police say the infant’s death occurred on March 20th at the IWK in Halifax while the infant was being treated for injuries sustained during an incident in Charlottetown on March 16th.  Acorn has been remanded into custody and will appear in PEI Supreme Court on Thursday.
