Monday (April 7th) marked the nomination deadline for candidates or the federal election. A total 20 candidates on the Island filed their papers and will be on a ballot in one of PEI’s four ridings. Those candidates are:
Charlottetown: Joe Byrne, New Democratic Party; Sean Casey, Liberal Party of Canada; Daniel Cousins, Green Party of Canada; Natalie Jameson, Conservative Party of Canada; Robert Lucas, People’s Party of Canada.
Cardigan : James Aylward, Conservative Party of Canada; Adam Harding, People’s Party of Canada; Kent MacDonald, Liberal Party of Canada; Wayne Phelan, Independent; Maria Rodriguez, Green Party of Canada; Lynne Thiele, New Democratic Party.
Egmont: Ranald MacFarlane, Green Party of Canada; Logan McLellan, Conservative Party of Canada; Bobby Morrissey, Liberal Party of Canada; Carol Rybinski, New Democratic Party.
Malpeque: Hilda Baughan, People’s Party of Canada; Jamie Fox, Conservative Party of Canada; Anna Keenan, Green Party of Canada; Heath MacDonald, Liberal Party of Canada; Cassie Mackay, New Democratic Party.
You should be receiving a voter information card in the mail. If you don’t receive that card by Friday, or if the information on it is incorrect, you should go to the Elections Canada Online Voter Registration Service to check your registration, register or update your address, or call Elections Canada at 1-800-463-6868 or 1-800-361-8935 (TTY) for assistance.
