The UPEI Men’s Basketball Panthers will play for a bronze medal today at the U-Sports Nationals. The Panthers will be facing Ottawa in the bronze medal game.
The Summerside Western Capitals lost 4-1 Saturday night in Game 1 of their first round playoff series in the Maritime Junior Hockey League against the Pictou County Weeks Crushers. They face off again tonight in Game 2 in Pictou at 7:00pm.

At the Special Olympics World Winter Games in Italy, PEI’s Ellen MacNearney won her third gold medal of the Games — this time in the 4-by-one-kilometre Relay Cross Country Ski event. PEI’s Tommy Ling has won a silver medal in the 100-metre Classic Cross Country Ski event.
