On Thursday, a Snowfall Warning is in effect for Prince County, while a Special Weather Statement remains in place for Queens and Kings Counties.
For Prince County, total snow amounts of 15 to 25 cm are expected, beginning this afternoon and ending overnight. Environment Canada says the snow will be heaviest later in the afternoon and may be mixed with ice pellets at times in the evening before ending overnight. For Queens County and Kings County, we could possibly see 15 cm of snow before a changeover to ice pellets or freezing rain, and then showers late tonight and overnight.
Due to the forecasted weather and travel conditions, classes at the Bluefield, Charlottetown, Morell and Souris families of schools will be dismissing three hours early on Thursday. Classes at the Montague family of schools will be dismissing two hours early. The French Language School Board says École Saint Augustin, École François Buote and École la Belle Cloche will be dismissing 3 hours early.
Earlier Thursday, all classes in the Westisle, Three Oaks, Kensington, and Kinkora families of schools were cancelled for the day. The French Language School Board says all classes at École Pierre Chiasson, École Évangéline and École sur Mer are cancelled for the day.
