The federal and provincial governments have signed an 86.2 million dollar agreement to increase housing development.
The money will be provided through the Canada Housing Infrastructure Fund and will help build capital or planning projects, expand or rehabilitate drinking water, wastewater, stormwater or solid waste infrastructure — all of which are essential for enabling more housing.
Officials say municipal governments, Indigenous organizations, non-profits, and private sector partners collaborating with another eligible applicant can apply.
The application deadline is May 1st.
