Several animals perish in barn fire in Oyster Bed Bridge

Queens District RCMP, and the New Glasgow and North River Fire Departments responded to a barn fire in Oyster Bed Bridge at about 10:00pm on Monday.  When RCMP officers arrived on-scene, the barn was severely damaged by the fire.  The RCMP says that some animals did perish including a horse, chickens, and pigs.  The PEI Fire Marshall’s Office was notified, and the fire is believed to be accidental and the result of an electrical issue.
