The UPEI Men’s Hockey Panthers lost 4-0 at Acadia on Saturday night. The Women’s Hockey Panthers fell 3-2 to UNB in a shootout. The Women’s Panthers host Saint Mary’s at 3:00pm today on minor hockey day.
The Charlottetown Islanders beat Gatineau 3-1 in the Quebec Maritime Junior Hockey League. The Islanders are back at it this afternoon as they host Rimouski at 2:00pm at Eastlink Centre.In the Maritime Hockey League, the Summerside Western Capitals lost 5-1 to Edmundston at Credit Union Place.
In the NHL, Ottawa edged Toronto 2-1; Boston beat Colorado 3-1; New Jersey dumped Montreal 4-3 in overtime; and the Islanders beat the Hurricanes 3-2 in overtime.
AUS basketball action Saturday saw the UPEI Basketball Panthers lose both games at Acadia. The Women’s Panthers lost 80-79 and the Men’s Panthers lost 80-70.
The NFL Conference Finals are today. Philadelphia plays Washington and Kansas City faces Buffalo.
