PEI RCMP adds to its Digital Forensics Unit

The PEI RCMP has added to its Digital Forensics Unit by creating two dedicated positions.  For PEI RCMP, it doubles its capacity to collect and analyze digital evidence.  The Mounties say that bolstering the Digital Forensics Unit is in response to the growing importance of electronic data in solving crimes — whether they be investigations into drug offences, child pornography, homicide, assault or online crimes.
