Maritime Electric has been asking Islanders to conserve electricity amid this cold snap that is putting more demand on the power supply.
Maritime Electric C-E-O Jason Roberts says he hopes Islanders can lessen their power use during peak times between 6 a-m and 10 a-m, and from 4 p-m to 8 p-m.
Roberts says people can help by using their dishwashers, ovens, washers and dryers at different times of the day, and by holding off on plugging in their electric vehicles.
