Heavy snow in Prince County Monday morning and with the winds creating reduced visibility. In Queens County, roads are snow covered and in areas with blowing snow and reduced visibility. In Kings County, there’s been less snow, but there are slippery conditions.
All classes in the Public Schools Branch and French Language School Board are cancelled Monday.
UPEI’s Charlottetown and St. Peter’s Bay campuses will be closed for the day. The AVC Veterinary Teaching Hospital will remain open for emergencies.
All Holland College locations will remain closed for the day due to inclement weather.
All provincial civil service offices in the West Prince area will be closed for the day. All provincial civil service offices in the East Prince, Queens and Charlottetown areas will be opening at 12:30 p.m.
For Prince County, there is a Winter Storm Warning in effect. We could see an additional 10-15 cm of snow Monday in Prince County with heavy snow in the morning, and strong winds whipping that snow around causing reduced visibilities. Conditions will improve near noon today as snowfall rates begin to ease. There are no warnings or advisories for Queens or Kings Counties, where a further 5 to 10cm is possible. Winds gusting to 60kh could cause some blowing snow issues in areas.
