Former Summerside Councillor sentenced to 90 days in jail for theft

Former Summerside City Councillor Barb Gallant has been sentenced to 90 days in jail.  In August, Gallant had pleaded guilty to a charge of theft over $5,000 in connection with money that was stolen from the Lest We Forget veterans group.  Gallant was serving as executive director of the group.  She was also ordered to pay almost $11-thousand in restitution to the Lest We Forget organization, and placed on three years probation.
