The Chief Public Health Office says it is investigating reports of gastrointestinal illness by a number of people who attended the PEI International Shellfish Festival on the weekend. About 50 people have contacted the Chief Public Health Office indicating they have been having symptoms of gastrointestinal illness, but health officials are still trying to determine the source of the illnesses. Symptoms being reported by those who have been ill include nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, stomach pain and fever. The Chief Public Health Office is asking those who attended the PEI International Shellfish Festival, and have had any of those symptoms of illness, to fill out an online questionnaire and contact the Chief Public Health Office at outbreak@ihis.org
