It remains unclear what killed a beluga whale found dead on an Island beach.
Staff with the Atlantic Veterinary College were dispatched Tuesday to Tracadie Beach to conduct a necropsy.
Wildlife pathologist Laura Bourque says belugas unfamiliar with the Island’s coastline sometimes get stranded.
She says there’s no evidence of trauma or entanglement in fishing gear.
