Following a third DFO LFA 24 weather call Wednesday morning, it was decided to further delay the start of the spring lobster season along the north shore. That means the season will not open for LFA 24 on Friday. Another weather call will be scheduled shortly. Setting day was originally to be this past Monday for LFA 24 on the north shore, but it’s been delayed because of the gusty conditions in the Gulf. Fishers in LFA 26A on the south shore from Victoria to East Point opened their season on Saturday, after weather delayed their opening by a day.
