PEI RCMP traffic enforcement initiatives resulted in eight drivers being stopped for impaired driving by cannabis in a span of just four days this week. On Thursday, an additional driver was charged with impaired driving by alcohol after RCMP were called to assist as a car was stuck in a snowbank. Since the start of 2024, PEI RCMP have stopped 30 impaired drivers, 9 of these have been impaired by cannabis. Last year RCMP laid charges on approximately 230 impaired driving investigations.
