The provincial government says all-terrain vehicles still won’t be able to use the Confederation Trail.
But it says it will support the Island’s A-T-V Federation in developing a new network of trails for riders.
A report released Thursday says access to the provincewide trail network will remain exclusive for those on foot, bicycle or wheelchair, while people on horseback can still use certain areas on a trial basis.
In the winter, snowmobiles have exclusive access.
Some had said they were worried about trail damage, safety and noise if all-terrain vehicles were allowed on trails.
