The RCMP conducted a checkpoint on Route 2 near Scotchfort on Thursday afternoon, and that resulted in two impaired by cannabis arrests in just over an hour. Over the last three days, the RCMP’s PEI Provincial Priority Unit has made five impaired by cannabis arrests across the province. Police are awaiting blood sample test results and anticipate these cases will be in court at a later date. Last year RCMP laid charges in approximately 230 impaired driving investigations.
