Matt MacFarlane of the Green Party has won the District 19 Borden-Kinkora By-election. MacFarlane captured 1,226 votes, 48.9 percent of the vote, compared to 38.5 percent for Progressive Conservative candidate Carmen Reeves, who finished second. Liberal Gordon Sobey and New Democrat Karen Morton finished well back with 10.9 percent and 1.6 percent respectively.
Elections PEI says voter turnout was 58.91 percent with 2,507 of the 4,256 eligible voters casting ballots.
