The Liberal cabinet’s retreat kicked off Sunday with a working dinner and will be followed by two full days of meetings in preparation for the House of Commons to resume sitting next week.
Liberal M-P Francois-Philippe Champagne indicated to reporters that affordability and pocketbook policies will be the focus of retreat discussions.
Prime Minister Justin Trudeau’s spokespeople say the biggest emphasis will initially be on affordability measures which includes the need to stabilize food prices and government programs like the ten-dollars-a-day national child-care initiative.
