Field of candidates set for February 5th District 19 by-election

The field of candidates is now set for the February 5th by-election in District 19 with the passing of the candidate registration deadline on Friday afternoon.  There are 4 candidates vying for the District 19 seat in the provincial legislature – Matt MacFarlane for the Green Party; Karen Morton for the NDP; Carmen Reeves for the Progressive Conservatives; and Gordon Sobey for the Liberals.  For those voters wanting to cast their vote by mail-in ballot, the deadline to apply for your mail-In ballot is Tuesday, at 6 p.m.   A mail-in ballot will only be counted if the Chief Electoral Officer receives it at Elections PEI by 12 Noon on Election Day, which is Monday, February 5th.  Advance polls will be held on January 27th and 29th and February 2nd.
