PCH to begin accepting fewer critical care patients later this month

Health PEI is indicating that later this month, Prince County Hospital will be accepting fewer critical-care patients due to a lack of staff in the progressive-care unit.  Health P.E.I. had said earlier this week that it was considering either cutti ng services or temporarily closing the unit to deal with the staffing shortage.  It’s expected that in about a week the unit’s capacity will be reduced.   Health PEI officials are stressing though that anyone needing medical care should continue to go to the emergency room at Prince County Hospital.
