All three Counties in PEI are now under a Wind Warning for Wednesday afternoon and early evening. Maximum wind gusts of near 90 km/h are expected during that time frame. Damage to buildings, such as to roof shingles and windows, may occur. High winds may also result in power outages and fallen tree branches.
Combined with the high winds, we’ll see snow beginning in the morning then changing to rain mixed with snow late in the afternoon. Blowing snow over exposed areas late in the morning and early afternoon. Snowfall amounts of 5 to 10 cm are expected for Kings and Queens, while Prince County could see 10 to 15cm of snow. That snow will be followed by 5 to 10 mm in rain.
