Late Sunday afternoon, at about 5:20 pm, Charlottetown Police responded to a weapon complaint at a gas station/convenience store on Capital Drive. Police learned that a woman had been in the store and dropped a hand gun. She picked it up, placed it in her purse, left the store and drove off. In reviewing the surveillance video, police were able to identify the suspect. At about 11:00pm Sunday, the Charlottetown Police Street Crime Unit located the suspect vehicle and pulled it over in the Hillsborough Park area. The woman was arrested and a bb hand gun was located and seized. A 34 year old Charlottetown woman has been charged with carrying a concealed weapon, possession of a weapon for dangerous purpose and possession of a weapon contrary to a prohibition order. She was released with conditions and will soon appear in Provincial Court.
