Environment Canada has issued a wind warning for all three counties in PEI. We are expecting wind gusts to 70kh by late Monday morning and then to 90kh in the evening before diminishing to 40 gusting to 60 after midnight.
There is a Wind Warning Advisory in effect on the Confederation Bridge, covering a period from 12 noon Monday through 3:00am on Tuesday. During that timeframe it’s possible that traffic restrictions may have to be put in place on the bridger because of the winds.
With the gale force winds in the forecast, Northumberland Ferries has cancelled all sailings for the day on Monday between Wood Islands and Caribou.
