RCMP have arrested a 20-year-old man in connection to fatal collision Queens District RCMP responded to a two-vehicle collision with fatalities on St Peters Road in Marshfield on Friday evening. Three people were killed, two were critically injured and a sixth was treated with non-life-threatening injuries. Queens District RCMP responded to a two-vehicle collision in Marshfield leaving three people fatally injured and two people with critical injuries and one who was transported to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. A 20-year-old man from York was arrested for Dangerous Operation of a Vehicle Causing Death and Impaired Operation of a Vehicle Causing Death. The man will appear in provincial court at a later date, the matter remains under investigation.
Early indications appear to show that a pick-up truck pulled out into the oncoming lane and struck a car head on. Passengers in the car include an 18-year-old man, 18-year-old woman, a male youth all of whom succumbed to their injuries and a teen boy who is being treated for serious injuries. A man who was a passenger of the truck was seriously injured and the driver of the truck also suffered injuries.
On the way to the collision, a marked RCMP vehicle traveling with lights and sirens, collided with a vehicle at the intersection on the by-pass at Mount Edward Road. No one was injured. Charlottetown Police is investigating this as a separate collision.
