UPDATE: Suspect at centre of Emergency Alert in Nova Scotia has been arrested

A suspect in an alleged axe attack in Thorburn has
been taken into police custody.
R-C-M-P had issued an emergency alert Monday morning after the attack at a home on Greenwood St. in Thorburn. Police say one person suffered serious injuries, and the victim and suspect do know each other.  Police began a search for 61-year old John Douglas Cress, who they said had fled into woods.  Assisting in the search were the RCMP’s Colchester County District, Emergency Response Team, Police Dog Services and Air Services.  Police later advised on Monday afternoon that Cress had been arrested without incident
