Islanders and Atlantic Canadians are getting a break from the cost involved with the carbon tax.
Charlottetown MP Sean Casey says the federal government will pause the carbon tax on home heating oil for the next three years.
In addition, there will be an upfront payment of $250 for eligible households as a rebate.
More money will also be spent to support residents switching to heat pumps instead of depending on oil to heat their homes.
