The union representing nurses in PEI says the province can’t afford to send health-care staff to another province.
Health PEI says Quebec has asked whether the Island can provide nurses to work in the larger province for two-week rotations until mid-October.
But PEI Nurses Union president Barbara Brookins says the Island is in a health-care staffing crisis of its own.
She says policymakers should be looking into a national strategy to manage human resources in health care.
