Police have charged a 62-year old Charlottetown man with assault in regards to that incident July 19th at a public meeting on the proposed plan for an overdose prevention site on Park Street. In the incident, Rob Lantz, the provincial Minister of Housing, Land and Communities, was shoved. Video footage of the incident was posted and shared on social media. Charlottetown Police launched an investigation and that investigation has led to the single count of Assault. The man has been released with conditions to have no contact with the victim, and will soon appear in Provincial Court.
