A cabinet shuffle is expected in Ottawa today as Prime Minister Trudeau switches up his ministers. It’s expected to be the biggest change in the cabinet since 2021. At least
seven current ministers will be replaced. Four of them including Fisheries and Oceans Minister Joyce Murray have announced they will not be reoffering in the next federal election.
The shuffle will put the Prime Minister’s team in place for the next federal election.
A similar retooling took place in July, 2018 prior to the 2019 federal election.
This comes ahead of a scheduled cabinet retreat to be held in PEI next month.
PEI’s cabinet representative is Veterans Affairs Minister Lawrence MacAulay.
