James MacAulay, the brother of Veterans Affairs Minister and Cardigan MP Lawrence MacAulay, passed away last Friday, just two days short of his 83rd birthday at the Souris Hospital.
Jim MacAulay spent most of his life as an educator. He was a principal at Morell Regional High School and retired from the Eastern School Board Office. He studied at St. Dunstan’s University,
St. F.X. where he received his Masters of School Administration in 1978 and received an Honorary Degree of Doctors of Law from UPEI in 2014. He was also heavily involved in the community and received many honours and awards for his volunteer work. He was named to the Order of PEI for his lifetime work.
Visiting hours on Wednesday from 6-9 pm at the Dr. Roddie Community Centre in St. Peter’s Bay. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday at 10 am at the St. Peter’s Roman Catholic Church.
