Alexis Jadis of Abegweit First Nation was Team PEI’s flagbearer for the Opening Ceremony of the 2023 North American Indigenous Games in Halifax last night. Jadis was announced Thursday as the flagbearer after a random draw. The thirteen-year-old will be competing in 3D Archery, one of three traditional Indigenous sports included in the program. The Games feature competition in 16 sports within 21 venues. The Games are bringing together more than 5,000 athletes, coaches and team staff from about 756 Indigenous Nations.
