Late Wednesday morning, the Charlottetown Police Street Crime Unit arrested a woman at her home on Churchill Avenue after an investigation into street level drug trafficking. Police say they are seeing an increased trend with drug dealers ordering illicit drugs online and having the product shipped to them via courier services. Acting on some information it received on this type of drug procurement, the Street Crime Unit launched an investigation. Officers say they observed the delivery taking place and made the arrest at that moment. Police seized a package containing 200 Dilaudid pills and 7 grams of cocaine. A 58 year old Charlottetown woman was arrested on scene has been charged with Possession of drugs for the purpose of trafficking.
